Mayor selects Gift & Gourmet Owners as Grand Marshals of Holiday Stroll Parade
SEGUIN, Texas – The 2016 Holiday Stroll Parade will march through town with a pair of downtown business owners leading the way. Mayor Don Keil has selected David and Mary Reiley, the owners of Gift & Gourmet as Grand Marshals of the holiday spectacle.
"Mary and David are Seguin natives who really have invested in their home town. When they moved Gift & Gourmet to downtown a few years ago, the store became the catalyst for so many of the great restorations and improvements you see in the heart of our city today. They had the faith and determination to go "all-in". There were no half-measures taken as they established a first-class retail shop in their impeccably restored building. They also believe in giving back to the community. I don't know if there is a charitable cause in town to which they have not donated either their time, or merchandise, or both. Their passion and love for Seguin is very REAL, and they deserve to be honored."
The parade rolls on Thursday, December 1st at 6:30 PM and kicks off two nights of holiday fun in downtown Seguin. After the parade, the community is invited to gather in Central Park for the annual tree lighting. The mayor will also announce the winners of the parade and the Christmas Tree Decorating Contest. You can also check out our vendors, take a photo with Santa and listen to festive music by the Seguin High School band.
