SEGUIN, Texas – The excavation of a 6x6 foot drainage culvert under the 700 block of East Court Street is almost complete. Now, the city is preparing for road repairs and improvements in the area. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot) will manage the road improvement phase of the project.

This week TxDot will use Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to inspect Court Street’s underground conditions, and any potential issues. On Wednesday night (July 29th), the radar will scan the roadway alerting officials of any problem areas. The results from the testing will be taken into account during the next phase of road work.

GBR only requires the city to close down one lane of Court Street. Crews will conduct traffic control, slowing down traffic to pass through one lane at a time.

The lane closures will begin at 7 P.M. on Wednesday, and is expected to take 2 to 3 hours.
