New Kids Kingdom Playscape Now Open at Max Starcke Park
New Medium Pavilion Also Ready for Use

SEGUIN, Texas – The new Kids Kingdom Playscape at Max Starcke Park East is now open and ready for children to enjoy. A new medium-size pavilion with six picnic tables is also ready for use.

“We are happy to have this project completed so families can enjoy another great park amenity here in Seguin,” said Parks and Recreation Director Jack Jones. “The new Kids Kingdom Playscape is a beautiful addition to Max Starcke Park East. It offers something for all children.”

The new playscape includes a swing set, several small rocking-style amenities and two large pieces of play equipment with various activities and slides. One section of the playscape is designed for children ages 2-5. The other section includes a Mega Tower slide feature and is for children ages 5-12. The ground is covered with a rubberized safety surfacing that also makes wheelchair access easier.

A few minor items, like sodding, will be completed soon. The large wooden play structure and swing set on the east and south side of the sidewalk is undergoing renovation, but is still open to the public for use. New restrooms at this site are currently under construction and will open this summer. Park patrons are currently encouraged to use the restroom located near the Patricia K. Irvine-King Large Group Pavilion, east of the Little League fields.

Funding for the equipment and improvements comes from the voter-approved November 2013 bond package. The parks portion of the package, $5-million, is designated for the construction of a new park and various improvements to existing parks.
