Daughters of the Republic of Texas Donates to Parks and Recreation Department

SEGUIN, Texas – Mayor Don Keil has proclaimed March 2 – 9, as Texas Independence Week in Seguin. The proclamation was presented to the Abishai Mercer Dickson Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas Tuesday at City Hall.

“The Daughters of the Republic of Texas is an outstanding organization that honors and celebrates our state heritage,” Mayor Keil said. “The group puts together an outstanding Toast to Texas ceremony each year at the Sebastopol House. I encourage the entire community to attend.”

The Parks and Recreation Department thanks the chapter for a $100 donation presented at the proclamation signing.

The annual Toast to Texas is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on March 2 at the Sebastopol House.
