SEGUIN, Texas – Mayor Don Keil has proclaimed August 9, 2014 as a day of celebration and recognition of Seguin’s 176th birthday. The proclamation will be officially presented to the Seguin Conservation Society at its upcoming Seguin Birthday Party.

“The Seguin Conservation Society has more than 400 members who work diligently to preserve and promote Seguin’s rich history,” Mayor Keil said in the proclamation. “It’s time to celebrate and recognize the many historical events that have helped create the foundation for the successful community that Seguin has become.”

The Seguin Conservation Society is hosting its annual Seguin Birthday Party on August 9, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Seguin’s First Church on Live Oak Street. The event includes live entertainment and a homemade ice cream contest. Hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments will be available for sale. Heritage Village will also be open during the event.
