August is national breastfeeding month
“It’s about raising awareness on the benefits of breastfeeding. It’s important for community health – we have to start at birth!” said Sandra Luna, Texas WIC.
On Tuesday, August 3oth from 3 to 6 P.M., breastfeeding moms and their families are invited to walk the red carpet during a special event recognizing the huge difference the act can make in our babies. Resources and information about the benefits of breastfeeding will be available.
“We want to celebrate the entire support system. Mom, dad, grandparents, siblings – their support gives our babies the very best start,” said Stacie Olivarii, WIC Nutrition Coordinator. ###
