C.A.S.E. Unit
In 2023, the Seguin Police Department formed the Criminal Apprehension and Street Enforcement unit (C.A.S.E) to better address the needs of the community, as they pertain to crime.
C.A.S.E is designed to be a flexible, mobile unit primarily supporting the Seguin Police Department Patrol and Criminal Investigations divisions in an effort to directly impact the quality of life of the citizens of Seguin by identifying and reducing street level crime trends, apprehending violent and/or repeat offenders, appropriately responding to other criminal acts that occur in their presence, and assisting with uniform traffic enforcement. C.A.S.E may also assist local and regional task forces and federal entities as needed.
The C.A.S.E unit is composed of nine officers, one Sergeant and one Lieutenant with expertise ranging from narcotics and interdiction to cold cases.
With the focus on addressing major crimes as listed below, the C.A.S.E unit’s goal is to show a marked decrease in these events, which benefits all members of the Seguin community.
