Pay Scale & Benefits

Salary

Beginning salary is $57,800.

Annually, employee's performance is reviewed with a maximum of 2.5% increase.

Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) - Subject to yearly City Council approval.

Hiring Incentives

$2,000 Hiring Bonus

  • $1,000 on first paycheck
  • $500 paid after six months
  • $500 paid after next six months

Pay Incentives

  • Intermediate Peace Officer Certificate: $25 per pay period
  • Advanced Peace Officer Certificate: $25 per pay period
  • Master Peace Officer: $25 per pay period
  • K-9 Handler: $25 per plus 8 hours per pay period
  • Detective Assignment: 5% of gross salary
  • Bilingual Pay: $25 per pay period

Health & Physical Fitness Incentive

Regular, full-time Police Department personnel who achieve the following scores during the annual fitness testing will be awarded:

  • 75% to 79%: 16 Hours Wellness Leave
  • 80% to 84%: 24 Hours Wellness Leave
  • 85% to 89%: 32 Hours Wellness Leave
  • 90% or Better: 40 Hours Wellness Leave
