Water Utilities

Water Utilities provides an essential resource through basic services that affect the daily lives of everyone who lives and works in Seguin. Delivering safe drinking water and ensuring the City can make water available to meet the immediate and future needs of our growing city are some of the tasks this department takes on. This is made possible through the three departments within Water Utilities: Water Plant, Water/Sewer Department and Water/Wastewater Maintenance Department.

The Water Utilities Department maintains  9,000 water meters throughout the City. Ten percent of our customers have their meters verified annually as part of our quality control to assure accuracy.  

  • Water/Wastewater Maintenance Department is located at 3027 North Austin Street.
  • The Walnut Branch Wastewater Treatment Plant is located at 101 East Klein Street.
  • The Geronimo Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is located at 450 Seitz Road.
  • The Seguin Water Plant is located at 603 West River Drive.

Superior Public Water System

The City of Seguin's water system has been recognized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) as a superior public water system.  See an archive of water consumer confidence reports.

Water Treatment and Distribution

The City obtains its drinking water from surface and ground water. The City owns and operates the Surface Water Treatment Plant located within Max Starcke Park. 

The City’s water distribution systems provide water to customers within the city limits. The City owns and maintains the portion of each customer’s water service line that runs from the water main distribution network to the customer meters typically located near the customer’s front property line.

Wastewater Collection

The City’s wastewater collection system provides service for customers within the city limits of Seguin. The City owns and maintains the portion of each customer’s sewer service line that extends from the sewer collection system main to the customer’s point of connection, typically a clean-out located near the customer’s front property line.
