The Seguin Water Department's number one priority is protecting public health by supplying citizens with the highest quality drinking water, exceeding state and federal drinking water standards.
While working to maintain a Superior rating in accordance to TCEQ requirements, the Water department produces and distributes over 4 billion gallons of water per year and treats over 1.4 billion gallons of wastewater per year. It includes the operation of two wastewater treatment facilities that each have the sewer collection system feeding into one primary lift station at each plant. In addition to the maintenance of 120 miles of distribution lines, 768 fire hydrants and 23 lift stations with 139 miles of collection lines, the Water Department staff repairs water leaks, sewer leaks and stoppages, installs new water and sewer taps, and new fire hydrants as needed.
