SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin Parks and Recreation Department is giving the public an opportunity to learn the basics of pickleball during an upcoming Pickleball 101 Clinic.
The clinic is being held Tuesday, April 4 from 6 to 8 pm at the Seguin-Saegert Pickleball Complex, 418 W. Mountain Street.
“The free, one-day clinic for ages 18 & older will provide the basic skills and knowledge to move forward with confidence in this sport,” said Nikki Rath, Athletics/Aquatics Superintendent. "This is a great opportunity for those who have never played Pickleball before and are interested in a lifetime game,” she said.
During the clinic, participants will learn how to effectively hit the ball, maintain a rally, keep score, the rules and basic game play. By the end of the clinic, players will have the foundational knowledge and skills to start playing pickleball.
Rath said players must wear athletic closed-toe shoes. Equipment is not provided.
