Court Street repairs cause sewer line leak; no delays on roadwork expected

SEGUIN, Texas – Long awaited repairs to E. Court Street are finally underway, and expected to be completed by Thanksgiving. However, due to the ongoing roadwork, soil has shifted on the south side of the road causing a sewer line to leak.

“Crews did not want to completely collapse the line so a bypass pump has been installed using large hoses to isolate and go around that part of the sewer line break. Repair work on the sewer line will begin once road construction reaches that phase of the repair,” said Nate Garza, Projects Manager for the City of Seguin.

All of the affected businesses, now have entry and exit ramps that go over the hoses. A section of Bauer Street just south of Court Street has been shut down since they are using that manhole to access the sewer.

The sewer line leak will not delay the repair of Court Street. The sewer line should be fixed within a week or two. Until then, the bypass hoses will stay in place.

The city appreciates residents and businesses patience as we move forward with Court Street repairs.
