City receives highest honor for financial reporting
“It really means a great deal to me and my department. We work hard all year to insure everything is reported accurately. Then we work very hard with our auditors, Armstrong, Vaughan and Associates, PC to insure everything is presented properly in our comprehensive annual financial report. We work with them not only on the presentation of the financials, but also on analyzing the year end and providing them with statistical information. I am very fortunate to work with a very knowledgeable staff and outside auditors,” said Susan Caddell, Director of Finance.
Caddell was also recognized again this year with the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement. She received the honor as the individual primarily responsible for preparing an award-winning Comprehensive Financial Report.
The Government Finance Officers Association of America (GFOA) is responsible for selecting the winning financial reports. They are judged using high standards including demonstrating transparency and clearly communicating the city’s financial story.
