Building Permit Counter hours are changing beginning August 3rd

SEGUIN, Texas – It’s hard to ignore how much the city is growing and changing. However, increased development means larger workloads at city hall where permits, plans and inspections are handled.

“Development within our beautiful city has increased drastically over the last year, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. We’re making changes that will help our department run more effectively, while meeting our customers’ needs more efficiently,” said Pam Centeno, Director of Planning/Codes for the City of Seguin.

To balance the new workload with existing staff responsibilities, city officials decided to change the hours at the Building Permit Counter.

Beginning Monday, August 3rd, the counter will be open to the public from 9 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

The change allows staff an extra hour in the morning, and half hour in the evening, to take care of critical tasks like preparing daily deposits and entering inspection requests that come in by phone, fax and email.

“These changes will ensure our team is able to balance the needs of all of our customers, and allow staff to complete other duties required of our department,” said Centeno.
