Public Offered Final Opportunity for Skate Park Design Input
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Meeting to Offer Third Public Participation Opportunity

SEGUIN, Texas – The public is again invited to attend a meeting to provide input on the design of the future Michael Thomas Raetzsch (MTR) Skate Park. Design concepts will be presented at the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting Monday, November 3 at 5:30 at Seguin City Hall.

“We’ve received lots of great input from our two previous public meetings and through the online surveys,” Parks and Recreation Director Jack Jones said. “We want to provide one more opportunity for folks who couldn’t make it to the meetings to provide input on the amenities they would like to see included in the MTR Skate Park.”

SPA Skateparks and New Line Skateparks used public input to create two unique design concepts. One design is approximately 10,000 square feet and the other approximately 12,000 square feet. The two designs vary in layout, details, amount/size of features, amount of built-up area versus flat area, etc.

The 2013 bond election provided $5 million for park amenities that include Park West, a new community park on a 48-acre site located south of San Antonio Avenue and west of North Vaughan Avenue. MTR Skate Park will be included at the Park West location.
