Seguin Fire Department Urgently Seeking Fan Donations

SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin Fire Department is urgently asking for help with its annual fan drive after running out of donations. The department has given away approximately 50 fans so far this year and continues receiving phone calls for more.

“Our community always comes together for those in need,” Seguin public information officer Scott Packard said. “We sincerely thank those who have given so far and encourage those who are able to please donate now.”

Donations of fans or money may be made at the Municipal Court/Fire Administration building located at 660 South State Highway 46.

“Not having air conditioning is unimaginable for a lot of us, especially in the middle of these hot Texas summers," Seguin Fire Chief Dale Skinner said. “For many families, the fans we provide through this program are their only source of relief from the heat.”

The annual drive provides fans to households without air conditioning. When available, fans may be picked up at the Municipal Court/Fire Administration building between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. A picture ID and proof of residency is required. Limit one fan per household. For additional information, contact Seguin Fire/EMS at 401-2310.
