Suspect Charged in Violent Robbery
Store Clerk Injured During Crime

SEGUIN, Texas – A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a violent convenience store robbery that occurred last week.

Muraad Franklin, age 18, is charged with aggravated robbery. Franklin turned himself in at the Guadalupe County Justice Center on Monday. Seguin Police issued an arrest warrant for Franklin on April 15.

The robbery occurred at approximately 11pm on Sunday, April 13. The suspect entered the store in the 900 block of South Austin Street and brandished a firearm. No shots were fired. The store clerk, who is in her early 50s, sustained blunt force injuries and required hospitalization. The suspect fled the scene on foot with cash and merchandise. Surveillance video assisted the Seguin Police Department in identifying the suspect.

Muraad Franklin was booked into the Guadalupe County Jail for aggravated robbery. His bond was set at $250,000. As of Wednesday afternoon, court records indicated Franklin remained in jail.
