Mayor Proclaims National Lineman Appreciation Day
April 18 Recognizes Efforts of Linemen

SEGUIN, Texas – Mayor Don Keil has proclaimed April 18 as “National Lineman Appreciation Day” in the City of Seguin. The proclamation was presented Thursday outside the Seguin Electric Warehouse.

“Electric customers in Seguin should be proud to have such a dedicated, professional and skilled group of lineman working to keep their electric service up and running,” Mayor Don Keil said. “These lineman put their lives on the line everyday with little recognition regarding the danger of their work.”

The Seguin Electric Utilities Department has ten employees who are responsible for the maintenance of 110 miles of overhead electric lines, 20 miles of underground electric lines and three substations. The department is responsible for maintaining approximately 7,100 utility poles and installing and maintaining all street and security lights
