Seguin Police Arrest Member of Bexar County Gang
Suspect was Subject of DPS Alert

SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin Police Department has arrested a man who was the subject of an alert from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

DPS issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) alert for Brandon Sweeney on Thursday. The alert indicated that Sweeney was potentially armed and dangerous. Sweeney is a known member of the Tango Orejon gang from Bexar County.

Seguin Police located the subject in a nightclub parking lot in the 800 block of West Kingsbury Street at approximately 12:30 Friday morning. Sweeney was in possession of a firearm, marijuana and meth. He was arrested and taken to the Guadalupe County Jail.

“With several recent gang-related arrests, the message should be clear,” Seguin Police Sgt. James Springer said. “Gang membership and violence has no place in the City of Seguin. If you participate in these types of activities, we will put you in jail.”

Sweeney is charged with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance (under 1 gram of meth) and possession of marijuana (under 2 ounces.) His bond status was not immediately available.
