More Arrests Possible

SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin Police Department has arrested and charged a high-ranking member of the Texas-Mexican Mafia.

Jessie Salazar III was arrested March 23rd following a 5:53am call about shots fired in the 700 block of Roberts Street. Responding officers took Salazar into custody as he attempted to leave the scene in a vehicle. Further investigation resulted in Salazar III being charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting arrest, deadly conduct for discharging a firearm, and retaliation for threatening a police officer.

Detectives were later able to obtain a search warrant for a residence on Allende Street. At that location, investigators seized multiple computers, laptops, electronic storage devices, 29 grams of methamphetamine and more than $10,000 in cash. Jessie Salazar III’s wife, Kathy Salazar, was arrested at the residence. She’s charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance. Jessie Salazar III was additionally charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

“The arrest of a high-ranking member of the Texas-Mexican Mafia shows that gang violence and membership will not be tolerated in the City of Seguin,” Seguin Police Sgt. James Springer said.

Kathy Salazar’s bond was set at $25,000. She has since bonded out of the Guadalupe County Jail. Jessie Salazar III’s bond is currently near $500,000. He remains in the Guadalupe County Jail.
