River/San Marcos/Heideke Street Project Underway
Project Includes Storm Drainage, Water, Sewer and Sidewalk Improvements

SEGUIN, Texas – Another capital project that will improve and enhance the quality of life for Seguin residents is now underway. Crews have started phase one of the River/San Marcos/Heideke Street (RSMH) project.

“People who live or work north of Seguin City Hall have likely noticed crews out working,” Seguin Public Information Officer Scott Packard said. “This will be a common sight for the next two years as we work to make significant improvements in that area.”

The project includes utility, storm drainage, water, electric and sewer upgrades. The streets will also be reconstructed and sidewalks added. The improvements will alleviate current concerns with storm water drainage, sewer issues and water pressure.

“The construction and road closures required to do the work will inconvenience some folks who live or work in the area, including us at city hall” Packard continued. “We ask residents to be patient because when this is all said and done, it will be a tremendous improvement.”

Streets included in the project include Milam between and Nolte, San Marcos between Kingsbury and Court, River between College and Mountain, Mountain between River and Gravel, Bauer between Court and Mountian, four side streets between River and Austin, and a small portion in the Glen Clove Subdivision.

Seguin City Council selected Jordan Foster Construction for the work. The project is expected to take two years to complete.
