City of Seguin Highlights the Fields at Huber Ranch
Softball Tournaments Boost the Local Economy

SEGUIN, Texas – The 2014 Seguin Matador Invitational got underway Thursday morning at the Fields at Huber Ranch. More than 30 regional teams are taking part in the three-day softball tournament.
“When you have that many players, parents and fans coming to Seguin, it’s great for the economy,” Seguin spokesperson Scott Packard said. “Many of these folks stay overnight in our hotels and eat at our restaurants.”

This tournament is just one of dozens the softball complex holds each year. In 2013, the Fields at Huber Ranch hosted more than 40 similar tournaments. Many of the teams, parents and fans stay overnight, boosting business at Seguin hotels and restaurants.

“The folks at the Fields at Huber Ranch do a great job organizing these tournaments. The complex is a great asset to the City of Seguin,” Packard continued. “We look forward to continued success.”
