New Grappler Truck Arrives for Brush Department
SEGUIN, Texas – Brush personnel are already to utilizing the new grappler truck which made its way into Seguin on Monday. The new grappler implement and truck will assist crews with brush pick up throughout the city. Currently, brush is picked up with three brush trucks each towing a chipper and operated by two brush personnel.
“The new grappler truck will allow a single operator to remove large piles of brush. This will allow the brush department as a whole to provide better service to our citizens”, said John Donnelly, Public Works Manager.
“Brush removal is currently on a 5-zone/5-week rotating schedule. Crews try to adhere to the posted schedule but there are special circumstances that occur such as the wind storm experienced a couple of weeks ago that require our crews to deviate from the schedule and address falling limbs or trees that may pose a safety threat to the public. Once those areas have been addressed, crews will resume their regular schedule.” said Joe Ramos, City Engineer.
The brush zone map, street zone list and 2017 brush route schedule can be found on the City’s website under Public Works ###
