Library seeks local authors and writers participate during Indie Author Day
SEGUIN, Texas – Mark your calendars! Indie Author Day will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018. On this one day, libraries and organizations around the world welcome local indie authors, writers and their communities in for a day of education, networking, mingling, writing, open mics, panels and so much more! The Seguin Public Library will host for the first time Indie Author Day, and we have planned a schedule full of activities! The Library wants to highlight local literary talent and nurture the pursuit of the writing arts in Seguin.
We are now accepting applications for the Author Meet & Greet and the Open Mic session. At the Meet & Greet, selected authors will be available to meet and greet community members, be eligible to participate in the Author’s Panel and sell their books. During the Open Mic session local authors, writers, poets, and those who enjoy writing to will have the opportunity to read their work to attendees. We will also host an Author’s Panel, Free Writing Space and the Workshop So You Want to Write a Novel.
In order to be considered for the Meet & Greet and the Open Mic session, an application and brief bio must be submitted. All forms are available on the library’s website. The deadline to submit an application for the Meet & Greet is September 13th, 2018 and for the Open Mic session is September 30th, 2018.
