City officials attend Tor Drive Ribbon Cutting

The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) approved funding for Tor Drive improvements in March 2014. Tor Drive was selected by the City for TIP funding because it was deteriorating rapidly and was an important connector road between 123 Bypass and 123 Business. Dean Word was awarded the bid in August 2017 and construction began in October 2017.

Project Scope: Upgrade capacity and enhance connectivity between SH 123 and Business 123.  Improvements include the widening of Tor Drive with a continuous left turn lane, improve drainage, and new pedestrian and bicycle amenities.

 About the TIP

As part of the MPO's urban transportation planning process, the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) addresses federal regulations administered by the United States Department of Transportation. The TIP is a four-year financially constrained list of transportation projects that approved for federal and state funding by the MPO Transportation Policy Board. The TIP is updated every two years and amended quarterly.
