Library seeks local authors & writers for Indie Author Day
SEGUIN, Texas – Mark your calendars! Indie Author Day will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018. On this one day, libraries and organizations around the world welcome local indie authors, writers and their communities in for a day of education, networking, mingling, writing, open mics, panels and so much more! The Library wants to highlight local literary talent and nurture the pursuit of the writing arts in Seguin and surrounding areas.
The Seguin Public Library will host for the first time Indie Author Day, and we have planned a schedule full of activities! From 10:00 am -12:00 noon we will have the workshop So You Want to Write a Novel (first come, first serve basis due to limited seating.) Also at this time we will have Write & Sip (free tea and coffee provided.) Participants will have a chance to sit and write for two hours in a quiet environment. At 12:00 noon, we will have the Open Mic Session Hour. Individuals will have 3 minutes to share their writing with the audience.
Our Author’s Panel will begin at 1:00 pm. Selected authors will talk about their work and answer questions from the moderator and the public. Our final event of the day will be the Author Meet & Greet at 2:00 pm where 11 authors will be available to talk with the public and sell their books. Light refreshments will be provided while supplies last. The authors participating are June Fitzsimmons-Esparza, Linda Heiser Baenziger, Ana Maria Gonzalez, Melinda Freeland, Nolan Schmidt, Judy Sheer Watters, Marika Bordes, K. Wendt, Martha Miller, T.D. Wilson, and Mary Jo Langford.
