Tor Drive Public Meeting

SEGUIN, Texas –Residents are encouraged to attend a public meeting to learn more about a major reconstruction project on Tor Road. The proposed project aims at easing traffic issues and congestion between SH 123 Business and SH 123 Bypass.

“This is a MPO project – meaning we’re getting funding to pay for the project through the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. They make decisions on which projects in the greater San Antonio area to fund based on specific criteria using state and federal dollars,” said Morgan Ash, Public Information Officer, “The MPO really values getting the public’s input. The design of this particular project is only 30% complete. That’s why they want to have this meeting so they can include any feedback in the final plan if feasible.”

On Monday, June 13th, the City of Seguin and TxDOT will host a public meeting at the Coliseum inside the Seguin Events Complex. From 6 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., those in attendance will hear a presentation covering the improvements included in the project’s scope.
A detailed map of the project’s location and design will be available for viewing before the meeting at City Hall.

Written comments from the public are welcomed and will be accepted until June 23rd. Comments can be sent by mail or delivered in person to the city Project Manager Nate Garza at City Hall (205 N. River Street, Seguin, TX 78155).

An official notice written in English and Spanish were sent to residents living near the construction site.

The proposed project involves a complete reconstruction of Tor Drive from State Highway (SH) 123 Business to SH 123 (bypass). The existing roadway will be widened, a continuous left turn lane added; along with drainage improvements, sidewalks and bike lanes.

You can submit any comments and concerns with the project to the city until June 23rd. You may drop them off in person at City Hall or mail them to City of Seguin; Attn: Nate Garza, Projects Manager; P.O. Box Seguin, TX ###
