Residents Invited to Learn About Proposed Stormwater Drainage Utility Fee at Public Meeting

SEGUIN, Texas –  A town hall-style public meeting is scheduled for July 8, 2021 to allow City of Seguin residents and businessowners the opportunity to obtain information about a proposed Storm Water Drainage Utility Fee.

The City is considering implementing a Stormwater Drainage Utility Fee to fund capital improvement drainage projects and for the operation and maintenance of the City’s drainage infrastructure with the purpose of reducing flooding, reducing standing water in the street networks with limited drainage systems or “localized flooding” and improving water quality.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 pm at the Seguin Coliseum, 950 S. Austin Street.

If the proposed ordinance is approved, the Stormwater Drainage Utility Fee would be based on the amount of impervious area on each property, including rooftops, driveways, patios, sidewalks or any other hard surfaces that do not allow stormwater to infiltrate into the ground.
