The City is considering implementing a Stormwater Drainage Utility Fee to fund capital improvement drainage projects and for the operation and maintenance of the City’s drainage infrastructure. The purpose of the Stormwater Drainage Utility is intended to reduce flooding, reduce standing water in the street networks with limited drainage systems or “localized flooding” and improve water quality.

If the proposed ordinance is approved, the Stormwater Drainage Utility Fee would be based on the amount of impervious area on each property, including rooftops, driveways, patios, sidewalks or any other hard surfaces that do not allow stormwater to infiltrate into the ground.
