City Asking Residents to Have a Voice in Master Plans

SEGUIN, Texas – The City of Seguin is asking for the community’s feedback to update its Comprehensive Master Plan and develops a Downtown Master Plan. Both plans will help guide decisions in the future ranging from historic downtown revitalization to infrastructure and economic development.

Residents are encouraged to have a voice in both forthcoming master plans by responding to online surveys. The two surveys are part of a larger effort to engage the community during the plan development process. The community’s vision will help set the foundation for both master plans and the future of Seguin.

Both surveys open Thursday, Dec. 2 and residents have until Jan. 15, 2022 to complete them by visiting each project website at and

The public is also encouraged to use interactive maps on both project websites to identify problem areas, opportunities and share ideas for the overall City as well as for downtown Seguin.

Throughout the 15-month planning process there will be opportunities for involvement, including community meetings, surveys and public engagement.

Upon completion, the Comprehensive Plan will provide a concept for growth over the next 20 to 30 years as it guides the City’s decisions related to transportation, infrastructure, parks, land use, neighborhoods, economic development, community image, and quality of life for residents.

The Downtown Master Plan will serve as a guidebook and determine ways to attract new businesses and residents to downtown, enhance mobility, encourage new developments, and create a vibrant gathering place in the heart of the city.
