City Recognizes Employees of the Month
Alpha Trench, Kennel Attendant, is our Employee of the Month for February 2022. She was nominated for consistently going above and beyond each day to take care of the shelter animals. She dedicates time getting to know the individuals who come into the shelter looking to adopt an animal, resulting in a cat or dog finding their forever home. Alpha also contributes by creating positive relationships between Animal Services and the public. Alpha's upbeat attitude will make you smile even if you're having a "ruff" day!
Robin McDaniel, Animal Services Officer, is the Employee of the Month for March 2022. Fire Chief Dale Skinner nominated her for the award for the help and compassion she showed when his dog Beasley got out the fence and was hit by a car while he was out of town. Robin not only took Beasley to the vet, but made him a comfortable space at Animal Services and kept an eye on him until Chief Skinner was able to return home. Robin went the extra mile by temporarily fixing Chief's fence to keep his other dogs from getting out. Beasley had to be put to sleep, but Robin's actions provided Chief and his wife the chance to spend the last few moments of Beasley's life and say their goodbyes.
City Manager Steve Parker presented Alpha and Robin with Employee of the Plaques earlier in the week.
