Help the City Name Pickleball Courts

SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin Parks and Recreation Department is in a pickle and looking to the community for help!

The old Saegert Middle School tennis courts, located at 418 W. Mountain Street, were recently purchased by the City of Seguin and are being transformed into 9 dedicated pickleball courts. But before the courts open later this Fall for play, this new park property needs an official name.  Given that pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country, the park name will be posted publicly on all pickleball forums and chat groups, as Seguin will be the best destination for pickleball play in the area.

Send us your ideas for naming the new pickleball courts! Name suggestions can be emailed to parks@seguintexas.gov or by calling the Parks & Recreation Office at 830-401-2480. Please submit potential names no later than July 8, 2022 for consideration by the Seguin Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will narrow down the list of potential park names received from the public to 3-5 recommended choices, and Seguin City Council members will vote on the official name for the future pickleball courts during a regularly scheduled City Council meeting in August 2022.
