The Seguin Public Library continues to expand the services it provides to the community by offering free of charge hotspots with unlimited data. Thanks to funding received through the FCC's Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF), the library now has 30 hotspots with unlimited data available for customers to check out for 30 days.

The hotspots will be available beginning March 1st, 2022. The library also received funding to purchase 20 tablets and 20 Chromebooks that will soon be available for checkout. The tablets and Chromebooks can also serve as Wi-Fi hotspots.

The Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) is part to the American Rescue Plan of 2021 and was established to provide funds to help schools and public libraries provide broadband connectivity to the communities they serve through Wi-Fi hotspots and connected devices such as tablets and laptops. The Seguin Public Library received $37,084.00 in ECF funds.
